Guests are welcome to walk around the farm and say hello to our animals. We feed the animals twice a day ( Oct-May) in the morning around 9am and in the afternoon around 7pm. If you are interested you are welcome to join us! In May we get about 30 lambs and in June our Mare breeds a foal. We live on the Farm so we are often at home and can assist you if needed. We have a friendly dog and a friendly cat who don’t mind chatting to you when you’re passing them.
We welcome you to our little farm that we have called home for many many years. We are often at home and can assist you if needed. Feel free to say hello to our animals on the farm along with our dog and cat.
I help Klara and Haraldur with the arrangements around the accommodations on the farm.
Visit the nearby town of Hella and enjoy restaurants, a swimming pool and farmer’s shops.
There are many activities in and around Hella that can provide great entertainment for an afternoon or the whole day.
The Hestheimar farm has a horse rental where you and your travel companions can enjoy the magnificent landscape while riding along on beautiful Icelandic horses. It’s only a few minutes’ drive away from our farm.
Seljalandsfoss is a majestic and beautiful waterfall situated only 30 minutes drive from our farm.
The volcano Hekla has erupted 20 times since the year 874 and is still active. It’s about an hour’s drive from our farm.
If you are arriving from Reykjavik, we are about 100km (160miles) from there.
If you are arriving from east you pass the town of Hella and drive for 10km. You turn from road 1 to road 26 (there is a gas station on the crossroad). Then drive about 3 min and turn left on road 281 (sign says: Fossholl). Drive for 1min and then turn left again and you are there. Outside there is a sign that says: “Klara’s Farm”. We look forward to greet you!
